Our team brings together a wealth of experience in advocacy, research, community support, and funding to ensure our work makes a meaningful impact.

Our Leadership Team:

  • Chair: Betty Smith-Billington BEM
    As Chair, Betty provides leadership and strategic direction for Kushti Bok Dorset, ensuring our mission to support the Gypsy and Traveller communities is upheld. Her work includes advocacy, community engagement, and representing Kushti Bok in discussions with local authorities and partner organizations.

  • Treasurer: Sue Miller
    Sue oversees the financial health of the organization, managing budgets, funding allocations, and financial reporting to ensure Kushti Bok continues its vital work effectively.

  • Company Secretary: Betty Smith-Billington BEM
    Betty is responsible for legal and administrative compliance, ensuring Kushti Bok adheres to governance requirements and best practices.

Research & Funding:

  • Researcher: Bryan Keets
    Bryan conducts research into Gypsy and Traveller history, culture, and social issues, helping to inform Kushti Bok’s projects and advocacy efforts.

  • Funding Manager: Rev. Jonathan Herbert
    Jonathan plays a key role in securing grants and funding to support Kushti Bok’s initiatives, ensuring the sustainability and growth of our community projects.

Advocacy & Community Support:

  • Advocacy Workers (Partnership with Citizens Advice): Karen Packman
    Karen provides essential advocacy services, offering guidance and support on legal rights, housing, healthcare, and education for Gypsy and Traveller families. Through our partnership with Citizens Advice, we ensure community members receive the assistance they need.

  • Kushti Bok Coordinators: Bea Sieradzka & Kerrie Brushett
    Bea and Kerrie coordinate Kushti Bok’s activities, including events, meetings, and community outreach, ensuring that the voices of the Gypsy and Traveller communities are heard and represented. They play a key role in organising our monthly meetings, cultural awareness programs, and advocacy efforts.
