Struggling with Money? Here's What BCP Residents Need to Know: Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF)

If you are a Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole resident going through a difficult time financially, support is available. BCP Council is introducing the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), funded through government support, which brings together and builds on previous local assistance schemes such as the Household Support Fund. It is designed to provide both short-term help in a crisis and longer-term support to improve financial stability.

Help available now:

While the CRF is being rolled out, local support is already in place. You can find:

• Food banks, social supermarkets and community meals via the access to food map 
• Money and crisis support through local advice services 
• Free, confidential help from organisations such as Citizens Advice
• Community based support 

What the CRF will offer

Different parts of the fund will be introduced over time:

• Crisis payment scheme

Help for residents on low incomes facing an unexpected financial emergency, with fast support for essential needs.

• Housing payments scheme

Help with urgent housing costs and situations where there is a risk of losing accommodation. 

• Support to build financial resilience

Longer-term help such as budgeting advice, benefit checks, and support with managing bills, debt and energy costs. 

• Community-based support

Funding for local voluntary and community organisations to deliver advice, outreach, and practical support in local areas. 

How it will work
Details on eligibility, application routes and referrals will be published on the BCP Council website as each part of the scheme is launched.
