Roma People and the Holocaust

It is estimated that up to 500,00 people from the Roma and Sinti communities were killed in the Nazi gas chambers.

The Roma Genocide is known to the community as the Porrajmos (the Cutting or devouring in Romani language)

International Roma Holocaust Day is held annually at 12 noon on 2nd August. In the Pengelly Room, Kingston Maurward College,in Dorchester
